Contribute to The Port Project to make an impact in the lives of people with cancer in Connecticut.
What is The Port Project?
The Port Project’s name is inspired by the port-a-cath that is used to administer medication for many illnesses including cancer.
The Port Project is a fund that seeks to assist cancer patients with some of the financial burden of cancer treatment.
Funds are available for:
Food gift cards
Household bill assistance
Free limited psychotherapy services for patients in active treatment
Why give?
-
✽
Provide food security for those diagnosed with cancer. Cancer diagnosis can shift a persons financial status over night. A cancer diagnosis can mean time out of work, mounting medical bills, and unimaginable copays.
-
✽
Assist with off setting the financial concerns of household bills. Receiving a shut off notice or an eviction during cancer treatment is the last thing a person should have to think about.
-
✽
The mental health of cancer patients is just as important as the physical health. A cancer diagnosis introduces medical trauma that few will understand.
